data warehouse engineer

can you help maintain and fine-tune our data warehouse which provides vital information to help the organisation work more efficiently?

data warehouse engineer – permanent

salary £33,750 to £39,400 – London docklands

Our enterprise data warehouse helps us manage the data that goes into reports and dashboards which are used across the organisation – these help us to see how well we’re performing against our commitments.

As a data warehouse engineer, you’ll provide support to our business intelligence (BI) and management information (MI) teams as they deliver this information to the wider organisation. You’ll be responsible for delivering technical requirements to a high standard and in a timely manner, focussing on the quality and reliability of your own code – and on the reliability of the data warehouse.

To succeed in delivering robust data that helps the organisation, you’ll need to have a technical background, either from technical support or software development, and have the potential to quickly grasp and develop knowledge in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and reporting tools. You’ll need to be able to analyse technical problems as well, and help implement solutions.

Meeting customer expectations will be crucial, so to facilitate this you’ll need to have excellent relationship-building skills and be able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility. Experience of working in a data warehouse environment or exposure to data warehousing concepts would be very useful and you must be willing to provide support for weekly and month-end reports – including some work out of regular office hours.
